genre research - romance

  Another genre I am interested in is romance because it is my favorite one to watch. I have noticed that a lot of romance movies none-diegetic sound such as osts that have love related lyrics and a vibe to it. Like whenever a butterfly in your tummy type scene comes up they usually start playing the music. They tend to have soft lighting to try and showcase the purity of love and so it can melt your heart sort of. There also tends to be a lot of 2 shots in romance films because the plot most likely is based around 2 actors who are the main couple in the film. There can also be a secondary couple that are usually best friends with the main couple. An example of romance movies would be The Notebook and 20th Century Girl. A lot of romance films are always filmed in school or workplace settings. Probably to make the viewers relate to it or something based on the ages of the cast. For costume and makeup the female role is usually dressed really pretty with nice natural makeup. If the love interest is a boy he's usually dressed softly and looks younger than his male parter. For the male lover he's usually seen dressed very masculine or casual. The element I really like about romance genre films is the sound it is always my favorite part. I am not kidding when I say i will watch a romance film solely for the OST I have done it before lol. My least favorite would have to be the editing because sometimes the editing of the scenes can be soo corny that it is hard to watch.

 Hello, I am back. To make some more progress on the film I will be creating soon very soon I wanted to do some research. This is to ensure that I have the right idea for this short film and don't end up making any silly mistakes. Since my genre will be a mystery I will make sure to research a bit on that topic. CCR - The End

  CCR My short film showcased the way mentally ill liars can affect others in society. This sheds light on liars in society which it isn’t really much reflected on. The main character in the short film would not stop lying about her life experiences to her previous friend group. People like this in society are not seen as good people. You can never know whether they are lying or not. This caused a rather untrustworthy feeling towards her causing them to feel different about her. Which is understandable because being friends with someone who can never be honest with you is rather exhausting. It was to the point where they had to stop being friends with her. This can be related to real life problems where people in the media constantly lie about their lifestyle for attention, but then it is then revealed that they actually never lived that way.
