Hey guys!! After all that research done beforehand, it is finally time... I am now going to start planning ahead for my short film! Time is moving really fast, so I HAVE to make sure everything goes according to plan.  Schedule : Currently, I have about 2 months to complete my short film which seems like a lot of time but once you keep that mindset in your head you'll be filming last minute. That is something I want to prevent, so I came up with this schedule. For the rest of this week and next week, I want to take that time to reflect on my short film. i really want to make sure I have the scenes well thought out, so the movie will make more sense. I want to have my storyboard finished by 1/26 that is my goal! After that, I will discuss when the participants for my short film can meet up and begin filming.  Location :  I am planning to have a few locations for my short film. It will consist of a room, a park, and a public place. I am thinking of filming in my house for the bedroom

 I chose the mystery short film The Vision for my 4th research. This short film was about a boy minding his business when all of a sudden he gets a concerning voice message from his walkie-talkie. It was his friend who was in danger. This was all going on during a stormy night so, he had to wait till the next day to go see what happened to his friend. When he arrived at the forest he saw his friend's items scattered through the floor. He kept walking until he saw his friend who was about to get hit by a truck. He ran quickly towards his friend to wake him up until all of a sudden... He woke up from a dream. This made the reader assume it was a dream until the paranoid kid decided to talk to his friend on the walkie-talkie to make sure he was fine. Then, that is when he heard his friend in danger just like the dream he had. Again, this short film walks you through different clues building suspense. This is why I think props will be important to build suspense letting the viewer know

 This is the 3rd mystery short film I have decided to research it is called The Last Note. It is a short film about a couple who is going through a divorce due to the wife's cheating. The husband then kills his wife. After, it seemed like everything was normal when he went back home and sat on his chair while reading the note his wife left. While reading it he was drinking the wine that was on the side table. At the end of the letter, he realized she had poisoned the wine. So, in return, they both killed each other which was so unexpected. The short film had a black-and-white filter over the clips that were from the past. Also, there were many cutup scenes which helped add to the dramatic effect. For example, in every clip, the frame would get closer to them arguing which made it more serious. There was also the use of suspenseful music to make the movie feel mysterious. The voice-over also helped pull the movie together like when he was describing how upset he was at his wife and

 The film I decided to watch as my second short film research is Whittling Away which is the genre mystery. The short film was about a daughter who left home while lying to her father. Her dad was frantically clooking for her and asked his mother for advice which is when he made a realization. Due to his not paying attention to his daughter, he did not know much about her, so it would be difficult to find her. When he stopped to take a look around his daughter's room he then realized that she really liked the lake. That gave him the clue to go to the lake and see if she was there. That is when he found his daughter at the lake safe and sound. In this short film there was a character who was there but never revealed their face. This gave it a big sense of mystery because the mom's face was never shown only a clip of her fidgeting with a necklace. Also when the girl arrived at the lake there was a frame shown of blood falling into the water making it seem like the girl harmed her

I watched the short film The Facts in the Case of Mr Hallow to find inspiration on what my mystery film should be about.  This short film is a crossover of mystery and horror. The film contains a very mysterious and eerie sound. The vibes are scary and leave you questioning the film. It has a series of different picture where it zooms into key factors in some spots. The film is about a man receiving a package with no idea where it came from and throughout the film he finds clues that reveal different things. I like how this keeps the reader engaged throughout the short film. I am definitely going to use this in my film. By introducing new clues the viewer will get more curious about what will happen next. This will help build up the momentum of the short film and really embody the mysterious genre. The short film also had amazing pacing which added to the genre to build up tension. It was rather slow, but quick at the times it needed to be quick. Such as it being slow during the suspen

 Hello, I am back. To make some more progress on the film I will be creating soon very soon I wanted to do some research. This is to ensure that I have the right idea for this short film and don't end up making any silly mistakes. Since my genre will be a mystery I will make sure to research a bit on that topic. First, I am going to make sure I have my project organized before jumping into anything else like filming for example. I want to have each scene, dialogue, props, and costumes well thought out, so there won't be much problem in anything being wrong with those elements in my short film. Along with those elements specifically the genre, I want it to be so that it isn't your typical mystery plot twist where it'll be easily identified by the viewer. I want to create an actual shock factor in the end, so I'll make sure I execute the film carefully. Especially with the plot I chose, I feel like it'll be easy to get off track I will make sure to stay on track w

I will be comparing more films together. This time I chose Le Jetee the short and 12 Monkeys the full-length movie.   Part 1 : The photo novel was pretty dark which had black and white photos giving it that vibe. The sound in the 12 Monkeys really helped tie it all together giving the viewer a unique experience. A take away from this is to pick each element with care as it should all work together in harmony to make my short film more enhanced and pleasing to watch.  I read an article that further gave its idea on both films. https://filmicmag.com/2015/12/29/a-comparison-of-12-monkeys-la-jetee/ Part 2: I agree with the article and the others' ideas on the movies being similar due to the 12 Monkeys being a homage to Le Jetee. I took away from this that it would be nice to take ideas from other successful films and make it into a grand idea. 

 Short film : Honestly, my first impression of the first film it gave me vibes weird vibes due to the setting and I could tell it was made a really long time ago. The setting was like a post-apocalyptic world with nobody left living but the characters. The way the film went about and was constructed was fine but you can clearly see some of the movements of the characters lag giving you an indication that it was created when the technology was not at its best. The way there was no talking throughout the film and only noise and a background sound made it a bit eerie as well. The overall film had 2 doll characters who were 5 and 9 that encountered this robot beast who was going to attack them. The 9 ran while the 5 stood against the beast resulting in 5 being sucked into some green mechanical portal by the beast. Later on when 9 also encounters the beast he does run off, but then he eventually faces the beast and finishes him off. Due to this, the 9 was able to collect the two pieces of t
